Сегодня в Москве прощаются с первым и последним президентом СССР Михаилом Горбачевым.
На похоронах от государства - только почетный караул. Прощание в Колонном зале Дома Союзов сокращено с четырех до двух часов.
Президент Российской Федерации Владимир Путин 1 сентября попрощался с Горбачевым в ЦКБ.
Единственный иностранный лидер, о прибытии которого есть данные, - премьер Венгрии Виктор Орбан. Из российских государственных деятелей с Горбачевым пришел попрощаться только заместитель председателя Совета Безопасности Российской Федерации Дмитрий Медведев. Собирался прибыть посол США. Были также политик Григорий Явлинский и певица Алла Пугачева.
Горбачева похоронят на Новодевичьем кладбище, где уже похоронена его супруга.
