За что боролись - на то и напоролись. Англия и Уэльс – регионы, где христиане оказались в меньшинстве, Лестер (более 59 процентов жителей - иммигранты из Уганды!) и Бирмингем - первые города, где установилось «большинство меньшинства», пишет  «The Guardian» со ссылкой на перепись 2021 года.

Перепись показала уменьшение числа христиан на 5,5 миллиона (17 процентов) и увеличение числа мусульман на 1,2 миллиона (44 процента).

37,2 процента населения не принадлежат ни к какой религии, что является вторым по распространенности ответом после ответа «я христианин». Ни одно другое государство в Европе не имеет такой сильной церкви, как Британия, и такого нерелигиозного населения.

Архиепископ Йоркский Стивен Коттрелл заявил, что  результаты переписи - «вызов тем, кто верит в царство Божие на Земле». Он добавил: «Мы оставили позади эпоху, когда многие люди почти автоматически идентифицировали себя как христиане, но другие опросы неизменно показывают, что те же самые люди все еще ищут духовную истину и мудрость, а также набор ценностей, по которым следует жить».

81,7 процента Великобритании пока еще - белые, включая небританцев, по сравнению с 86 процента в 2011 году.

9,3 процента – азиаты (было 7,5).

2,5% - цветные, черные и карибы.

1,8 процента - африканцы (было 1,6).
